This not-too-sweet perfect morning treat has a great nutty flavor that will wake you right up and prepare you well for the day. The coconut adds a perfect chewability dimension and texture which leaves you coming back for more. Recipe makes about 6 cups.

Ingredients
3 cups of rolled oats
1½ cups unsweetened coconut flakes
½ cup toasted wheat germ
1 cup sunflower seeds
¼ cup sesame seeds
½ cup honey
¼ cup canola oil
1 cup slivered, blanched almonds
½ cup cold water
½ cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 °F
Mix together rolled oats, coconut, wheat germ, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds
Combine honey and oil and add to ingredients, stirring until well mixed
Gradually add the cold water until mixture is crumbly
Put mixture into large shallow baking pan and spread evenly to edges
Bake on middle rack of oven for 2 hours stirring every 15 minutes
Add the slivered almonds and continue baking for half an hour longer, until mixture is thoroughly dry and light brown in color. It should feel crisp to the touch.
Remove from oven and mix in raisins. Stores well in cool dry, place.
